How Thundr works

The four things worth knowing before your first chat: how the random matching pairs you up, what happens on the call, where free ends and coins begin, and the controls that keep you in charge.

No account · no download · free to start
01

Matching

One button, one stranger.

Tap start and Thundr pairs you with one person who is online at that moment. The match is random by design — no swiping, no browsing profiles first, no gender filters.

02

The call

Cam to cam, both of you.

Every match is a private 1-on-1 video chat. Both cameras are on facing each other, nobody else can watch or join, and nothing continues after you leave. Stay as long as the conversation carries — or tap next and a new face arrives in seconds.

03

Free & coins

Free to start. Coins for extras.

Starting on Thundr costs nothing — no card, no subscription, no account to create. Coins are needed for longer sessions and premium extras: the first chats are free, heavier use is not.

04

Staying in control

Every exit is one tap away.

Skip and mute sit on the chat screen the whole time. You never share a phone number or profile, and ending a chat needs no reason. If someone breaks the rules, open their profile and report them — reports go to moderation.

The controls, one by one

Every control you have during a chat, and what it actually does.

Next / Skip
Ends the current chat politely and connects the next stranger. Use it freely — skipping is normal here, not rude.
Mute
Cuts your microphone instantly while you stay in the chat. Good for background noise or a second of privacy.
Camera
Your camera only turns on when you enter a chat, for the person you are matched with — never in the background.
Block
On the other person’s profile. Once you block someone, they are not matched to you again.
Report
Also from their profile — it opens a separate report form that goes to moderation. It is how the place stays usable.
Leave
Close the tab and you are gone. No call log, no contact card, nothing for anyone to ring back.

What you need to use Thundr

A browser

Thundr runs on the open web — phone or laptop, no download needed.

Allow both when the browser asks; video chat needs a face and a voice.

Be 18 or older

Thundr is adults only — you must be 18 or over to use it. That is a rule of the service, not a box you tick.
